The Blue Ridge

It's hard to beat the roadside views of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Sometimes it's nice to just hop out fo the car and enjoy sunset.

Natahala

A six mile paddle and a one mile hike will land you at this secret spot in Natahala National Forest. It's a bit of work but is easily the best waterfall in North Carolina.

Katmai

My favorite photo! This shot was taken just as fall was coming to an end and the bears at Katmai NP were getting their fill of salmon before hibernating for the winter.

Territorial

Occasionally you get a reminder that you're not always at the top of the food chain.

Moraine Mornings

My alarm went of at 430 and it was pouring rain, but I crawled out of the camper and decided to go to Morain Lake, since it's a quick hop from the parking lot. I didn't get the perfect conditions, but it's every morning is a good morning in the Canadian Rockies

First Grizzly

On the Alaskan Canadian Highway, in route to Alaska, we saw our first grizzly of the trip in Norther Alberta right before we went to set up camp. She stood up and almost posed with the fall colors providing the perfect backdrop. It was certainly a memorable moment and one of my favorite photos in the Alaska Collection

Lindquist

My favorite beach in the Virgin Islands....it's not the bluest, calmest water or the whitest sand, and there aren't any services or bars, but its never crowded and sunrises are gorgeous. Can't ask for more than that.

Mid Morning at Megans Bay

A V.I. classic and it's classic for a reason. Its a perfect place to kick of a trip to St Thomas. It was so much fun coming back to visit and capture this place.

Rocinha

I had the opportunity to tour on of Brazils largest favelas. Spent 3 hours and hiked it from top to bottom, stopping at food carts and shops along with the way. My guide grew up in the favela and had lived heir his entire life. He even took me into his home and made me coffee and told about the social structure and the politics that keep this community functioning. It was an eye opening experience and a great reminder to appreciate all the things we have here at home.

City of God

One of the most beautiful moments of my life was my last day in Rio. I planned a sunset heli ride as the last thing on my itinerary before catching the red eye back to NC. I hopped in the chopper and it was a bout a 15 minutes ride to Christ he Redeemer. As sun crept behind the mountains the rays filled in behind the statue creating a surreal moment and a scene I'l never forget.

November at the Farm

There are few places I'd rather be on a cold November afternoon, than walking out of the woods and through the field at the farm. The last leaves are hanging on and the light hits the barn just right before the sun dips behind the mountains. No matter how many times I take this hike, I'll never get tired of it, especially in November.

Follow the Light

Went up to Hawksbill for a quick sunset mission and the light was just absolutely stunning. It was still raining where i was standing but in the distance the sun had a clear path and was lighting up the mountains. Eventually the rain passed and we were left with an almost perfect scene.

Yellowstone

It's hard to create a unique image of Yellowstone that really captures the feel of this part of Wyoming. I've tried for years. But as I've slowly found myself wandering further and further into the remote corners of the park I finally start to find the places that aligned with what I wanted to capture. This was about 6 miles back. The only other people I saw were on horseback and this image took shape while I was eating a sandwich sitting on a rock, getting ready to hike back to my car in the dark. I didn't think much of it when I took it but after the fact, I really feel like I finally have an image the captures the real Yellowstone.

Absarokas

This place is epic. You will be seeing a lot more work from here as soon as I can get back out there. Just thinking about the Absarokas/Bearthooths gives my something to look forward to photographing down the line. It's next level.

Desert Dawn

I've got to say this is probably one of the best sunrises I've ever seen. It's a popular spot in Arches National Park, but it's popular for a reason. I made the short hike for sunrise 3 times before I finally got the conditions I was looking for, and I'd gladly go three more times just for fun.

Moments in Monument Valley

This trip and this place meant a lot to me. It's not a story I like to share, but it's a memory that I'll always hold on to. Expectations and reality don't always line up, and that goes for both places and people, but for a brief moment in monument valley, things felt pretty aligned even if it was fleeting.

The Quadrado

Every afternoon as soon as the sun set behind the trees, the town came to life. The quadrado (town square) turned into a futbol field and everyone came out to play until dark. These games got pretty intense sometimes, which made them incredibly fun to photograph.

Horizon

This was one of my first times shooting in the Spring of 2021. It was a rough winter for me and I was feeling pretty low when I was sitting out here. It was as struggle to even bring myself to head out, but I did. I didn't look like I was gonna have much luck but there was just enough space on the horizon for the sun to breakthrough.

Shackleford

I camped on this uninhabited island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina so I could catch the wild horses grazing at sunset. The humidity and mosquitoes were pretty brutal, but definitely worth it.

Travel Slow

I was in a hurry on this afternoon, since I only had one day here I was trying to fit in as much as I could before heading to the Grand Canyon. I wish I would've slowed down a little and really appreciated how unique this place is. Nonetheless, the light in this picture was absolutely stunning, and so for this moment, I'm glad I was here.

I was really excited to add this image to my collection. Arches NP is one of a kind.

Ipanema

A Saturday evening at the world famous Ipanema beach in Rio de Janiero. I was lucky enough to spend the entire day with a few locals and we ended our day here with a beer and a sunset swim. This experience solidified Rio as one of my favirot cities on the planet.
